Our Priorities in Brief

Exemplify Leadership from the State to Branches
  • Unifying the NAACP Maryland State Conference is essential to our success. Our standard is collaboration and respect.
  • We will continue to build partnerships with our traditional allies as well as new community stakeholders.
  • We have also expanded our state executive committee to include STEM / Innovation, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Mentoring, Advocacy for Sexual Minorities, Latino / Hispanic Outreach and Suburban Solutions.
  • Further, we've established a leadership development structure that is attractive and set to train and launch political leaders.

Empower Our Branches
  • The role of the State Conference is to assist branches which are the pillars of a strong State Conference.
  • MSC will guide branches in the areas of membership development, fundraising and program implementation.
  • Also, we will lead while growing in the areas of compliance / capacity, membership, economic development, relevant statewide programs, community partnerships, election year protocol, identifying leaders and always have a significant political agenda.

Invest In Youth Engagement & Leadership Development
  • Youth investment is a priority for the Maryland State Conference.
We support all branches in their implementation of effective Youth Council & ACT-SO programs. As well as strengthening existing branch programs and helping to attain financial support of these programs.
  • We will give young professionals and youth/college leaders a real seat-at-the-table and present leadership development opportunities at both the State & Branch levels.
